BIOGRAPHY
Daniela Sanchez Vegas is a Venezuelan-born, Miami-based multidisciplinary artist whose work transforms spaces into vibrant experiences of color, movement, and meaning. With over 15 years of professional practice, she has built a dynamic career across murals, sculpture, mixed media, and immersive public art installations.
Driven by an early fascination with color as a language of emotion, Daniela’s work bridges abstract geometry, organic forms, and figurative elements. Her artistic voice is deeply rooted in themes of nature, ecological awareness, and human connection—creating pieces that not only beautify environments but also invite reflection and interaction.
During her time in Costa Rica (2007–2016), she founded Re-Inventando Muebles Ecológicos, an initiative that reimagined discarded materials into functional art, establishing her commitment to sustainability as a core pillar of her practice. This philosophy continues to inform her approach to public art and large-scale projects.
Daniela’s work has been exhibited internationally and commissioned across the United States, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe. Her portfolio includes large-scale murals, life-size public sculptures, and experimental hand-painted swimming pool installations. Notable highlights include a public aluminum sculpture for Maurice A. Ferré Park in collaboration with the City of Miami, and her residency at MIFA (Miami International Fine Arts), where she continues to expand her exploration of mixed media and public engagement. Her growing public art portfolio includes large-scale mural commissions for the City of Hallandale Beach and Miami Beach (South Beach), along with numerous projects across Florida, where her work brings color, energy, and identity to urban environments.
Her multidisciplinary background—supported by studies in Social Communication and Graphic Design, along with hands-on experience assisting established artists—has shaped her into a versatile creator and project leader capable of executing complex, large-scale works.
Today, Daniela continues to push boundaries through public art, immersive environments, and collaborative projects. Her mission is to bring art into everyday life—creating spaces that inspire joy, connection, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
ARTIST STATEMENT (Upgraded)
My work is an exploration of Artistic Freedom—a continuous process of creating without limits, guided by intuition, color, and the rhythms of nature.
I move fluidly between mediums, scales, and surfaces—painting murals, building sculptures, transforming objects, and reimagining environments. I don’t see art as something confined to a canvas; I see it as something that lives in space, interacts with people, and evolves with its surroundings.
Color is at the center of my practice. It is my language, my energy, and my way of communicating emotion. Through bold palettes and dynamic compositions, I aim to create experiences that feel alive—artworks that uplift, energize, and invite connection.
Nature is both my inspiration and my responsibility. My work often reflects organic forms, ecosystems, and the invisible forces that connect us all. At the same time, I remain committed to incorporating sustainable practices and materials whenever possible, honoring the environment that continuously inspires me.
I am drawn to public art because of its power to transform shared spaces into meaningful places. A mural, a sculpture, or an installation has the ability to shift how people feel, how they interact, and how they experience their environment. That transformation—subtle or bold—is what drives my work.
Ultimately, my intention is simple:
to create art that brings joy, awareness, and a sense of connection—leaving behind spaces that feel more alive than before.
