Holding Myself reflects the difficult instant in which healing turns inward. The embracing figure is both wounded body and source of support, holding what cannot yet be repaired from outside. Recycled paper and layered paint evoke roots broken and reassembled; the transition from grayscale to saturated color marks the slow return of sensation, agency, and growth. Nature does not operate as decoration but as a model of regeneration. The work proposes resilience not as the denial of trauma, but as the capacity to remain present with fracture, learn from it, and become one’s own ground for renewal.
